The ActionCOACH class was a great refresher that reminded me of the importance of working “on” my business and not “in” my business. This allowed me to return back to some basics that I learned in college.  How to more efficiently use my time planning/overseeing, instead of doing the day-to-day tasks.  There is even a name for these types of realizations:  BFOs or Blinding Flashes of the Obvious.

Action Coach helped me refine the way that I was creating instructional systems for my staff, that are generally young and need large amounts of oversight and instruction. These systems (checklists, training videos, etc…) helped me to free up my days from the time consuming, repetitive training of new employees, while at the same time holding employees responsible for their daily tasks.  Additionally, Coach Joe kept our Action Coach class on track by facilitating group interaction & holding us responsible to do the work.

A core takeaway that I gained from the class was to allow myself to step back and reassess what we were already doing from a different, more productive, perspective.  Prioritizing my allocation of time to plan, has allowed me to focus on and refine our target audience/services goals to increase revenues for our upcoming season.
